Referrals, Rebates and Private Bookings
B.Well Psychology offers various referrals, and rebate options. You can explore them below, or if you have any questions, get in touch at 0432 916 048 or [email protected]
Medicare Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
Referrals under the Medicare Better Access Initiative will provide access to up to 10 Medicare-subsidised therapy sessions per calendar year. Your general practitioner or psychiatrist can assess your eligibility for an MHCP referral.
In order to claim a Medicare rebate for consultations at B. Well Psychology Clinic, please book an appointment with your doctor to arrange an MHCP referral and send a copy of your referral to our admin team for our records.
Please bear in mind, you’ll be required to pay the full consultation fee at the time of your appointment. You will then receive a rebate from Medicare a few days afterwards. Our admin team is able to claim your Medicare rebate on your behalf when provided by you with the necessary information.

Medicare-Subsidised Treatment
For clients referred under a valid mental health care plan or chronic disease management plan, as well as through private health insurance, and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) self-managed funds.
Private Health Insurance Rebates
All private health providers have different benefit structures and allowances for psychology services. Please speak with your private health insurance provider directly for information regarding the level of coverage your policy provides for psychological therapy.
Unfortunately, our admin team is not able to process claims under private health insurance on your behalf. If covered for psychology under your policy, you will be required to pay the full consultation fee at the time of your appointment and then claim your rebate directly from your private health provider.
Automated Payment & Medicare Rebate Claiming
At B. Well Psychology Clinic, we have an automated payment and rebate process. We use the Halaxy secure payment system which requires a debit card or credit card to be provided as part of the intake paperwork.
We can electronically submit the claim to Medicare on your behalf when your doctor has referred you under the Medicare Scheme. Medicare then pays the rebate into the bank account that you have nominated to Medicare.
This means directly following an appointment, including if it’s face-to-face, you can get on with your day without the need to worry about payments or rebates. We’ll process these automatically for you using the debit/credit card you have provided.
NDIS Referrals
We are able to provide sessions through the NDIS for those with self-managed funds. Please be aware that our admin team is not able to process NDIS claims on your behalf. You will be required to pay the full consultation fee at the time of your appointment and then claim the session cost directly from your NDIS self-managed fund.
Private Bookings
You can seek support as a private client without needing a referral or private health insurance policy. Just bear in mind, consultations undertaken as a private client will not attract a rebate, meaning you will be required to pay the full consultation fee at the time of your consultation.
